Red Vegas - Keeping the south west 'live and alive'

Red Vegas are a highly, energetic 5 piece rock covers band based in the city of Plymouth with a reputation that dates back to 2001 when they first set out as an originals band.

Having just reformed with their fourth line-up, the band are looking to creep back into the Plymouth music seen once again and put themselves back were they once were and belong. As well as the pub gigs the band will also be venturing back into the musical world of weddings, parties and corporate events.

A brief history..........

In the beginning the main focus for Red Vegas was to clinch that record deal and so with that in mind the band became regular visitors to the city of London, playing such venues as The Cherry Jam, The Sound in Leciester Square and The Brixton Acadamy (where their musical talents were witnessed by the legend that is Steve Lemacq). During that time Red Vegas also became regular visitors to the world famous 'Cavern Club' in Liverpools Matthew Street which continued to be amongst their gig listings right up until early 2009.

As the years progressed the band decided to bring in new band members and also exchange some too. Red Vegas were looking to strengthen their chances of hitting the big time and with new band members came new, fresh ideas. Alas, it wasn't meant to be and so in 2004 Red Vegas took a small break, reduced its members and became 'Waiting for Kane', then 'The Kanes' and then after a second further break Red Vegas reformed in 2006 with only two of its original members remaining.

With a new stronger line-up came a new focus, 'covers' and it was then Red Vegas became one of Plymouths premier rock covers band. They were certainly creating a buzz and a regular following during this time and with such a loyal crowd came many requests that Red Vegas turn their attention to weddings and private parties as well as their regular pub gigs. 2010/11 also saw them dabble the corporate musical market.

With a change of singer and the loss of a great guitar player Red Vegas finally came to a halt in the January of 2011, almost 10 years to the day when the band first evolved. With band members now going their seperate ways and starting new projects (Land of the Giants, Blackbird, The Band with no Name and Crossfire) it seemed like it really was the end of such a great band with so much history.

Red Vegas returns!

The arrival of the year 2012, also sees the revival of Red Vegas. Like a phoenix from the flames, the once great Red Vegas is about to beckon on its fourth ride of Plymouth music scene. We look forward to seeing you all again...........
